No, bamboo should not need pesticides or fertilisers during its production. Bamboo contains a natural antibacterial, antifungal agent called ‘Bamboo kun’ which greatly reduces (if not eliminates altogether), the need for pesticides. Fertilisers are not required either as bamboo is already super fast-growing grass.
